Our Story

Hi, I'm Mike. The journey that led me to start BlackFlint Company began 13 years ago with a simple passion for crafting knives. What started with shaping handles quickly grew into grinding, customizing, and eventually designing and building my own knives from scratch.

My inspiration comes from everything around me—nature, people, and experiences—allowing each piece to tell its own unique story. But above all, I believe in creating a product that not only looks exceptional but performs just as well.

BlackFlint Company is proud to call Lansing, Michigan, home. The name? It's a tribute to my loyal dog, Flint, who’s been with me through it all.

I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude to the incredible community of makers who have shared their knowledge and wisdom with me along the way. The advice and support have been invaluable, and I couldn’t have reached this point without them.
